The opera ‘LICHT’ by Karlheinz Stockhausen, one of the most important composers of the last century, has been considered impracticable until now. The Dutch National Opera, Holland Festival and The Royal Conservatoire decided to perform parts of the magnum opus of Stockhausen, an opera marathon covering seven days of the week. Director Oeke Hoogendijk (The new Rijksmuseum) followed this process up to the world premiere at the Holland Festival and records in a unique way how these parties will implement this ambitious project.
